On June 4th, Two Ten hosted three great events with over 500 members of the footwear community in attendance. People gathered from all areas of the industry to learn, connect, share and relax with friends. If your memory of the day’s activities is a little blurry, we have an endless stream of pictures to help clear things up.
A wealth of valuable information was shared at this year’s HR Leadership Summit at Foot Locker. The experienced panel of speakers discussed industry perspectives and insights, along with the effects of a changing retail environment and how to successfully hire for the future of omnichannel customer experiences. Beth Goldstein of NPD Group moderated a panel discussion featuring Janet Bell, Sears; Todd Dean, The Aldo Group; Natalie Ellis, Foot Locker; Milton Pappas, Nine West; and Jim Salzano, Datapoint Capital. Tony Hsieh of Zappos.com delivered the key note address, “How does Zappos.com stay ahead of the curve.”
The WIFI National Conference at H.H. Brown was another jam-packed event with a powerful panel, led by our WIFI co-chairs Libby Edelman and Carol Baiocchi. Women in footwear came together for an intimate chat with Rebecca Minkoff, Jodie and Danielle Snyder of Dannijo and Alison Koplar Wyatt of Refinery29. The panel discussed the roles of social media and innovation for entrepreneurs and how to offer interesting content in a world where customers can filter almost everything.
Young Professionals and industry icons came out in droves, to honor Dave Grange, President of Lacoste Footwear, NA at YP210’s annual party. Guests spent the evening dancing, sharing drinks with friends, and playing numerous games of beer pong, mini golf, and Jenga. All money raised will be used to help grow community groups within footwear (WIFI, YP210) and provide footwear families with help in times of need.
