Two Ten Receives Gift from WSTA
WSTA Establishes Endowed Relief Fund

December 5th, 2007, New York City, NY –Shelley Shannon, Executive Director of the World Shoe Travelers Association presented Two Ten Foundation President Peggy Kim Meill with a gift to endow The Shoe Travelers Association Relief Fund. The gift was made at the Two Ten Winter 2007 Board Meeting in New York City.

The WSTA Board agreed unanimously to create an endowed relief fund to directly support WSTA members in need. With approximately 2,200 members, WSTA is the largest organization of footwear-related sales representatives in the nation. WSTA Executive Director Shelley Shannon said of the gift, “We did it because it’s the right thing to do. Two Ten and WSTA are both unique organizations and it is the commitment that each organization has to the wellbeing of those in the industry that is our common bond.”

Much of Two Ten’s funding is provided by income from endowment funds directed for scholarship or relief assistance. An endowed, perpetual fund can be established with a gift of $50,000 or more – and named for an individual, corporation or association. WSTA and Two Ten are looking at ways to continue to grow the fund, including streamlining the way Shoe Travelers make donations to the fund.

The Two Ten Board of Directors, incoming Two Ten Chairman Tim O’Donovan and President Peggy Kim Meill accepted the gift, echoing Shannon’s comments, “WSTA serves as an extremely important mechanism in uniting a group of footwear professionals. This gift is a testament to the Shoe Travelers’ dedication and commitment to Shoepeople helping Shoepeople.”
