Two Ten Receives Grant for Substance Abuse Training
Staff more equipped to understand signs of alcohol and drug addictions
As people within the footwear community are being hit hard by the current economic recession, Two Ten Footwear Foundation is ramping up an effort to better serve footwear families in need. A grant has been made by Steve Madden to provide the social services staff the latest tools, knowledge and skills to better assist clients affected by substance abuse.
The funding enabled Two Ten staff to undergo in-depth substance abuse training led by the Hazelden Foundation, founded in 1949 to help people reclaim their lives from the disease of addiction. The training has equipped Two Ten staff with greater understanding of addiction, skills to identify signs and symptoms of abuse, and better capacity to help those with chemical dependency.
A portion of this grant is also designated for financial assistance awards to individuals with specific addiction and substance abuse issues.
