Please join us as we kick off a new program designed specifically for women in the footwear industry. Two Ten WIFI's first national event will be held on August 4, 2010 at the Ogilvy & Mather Building in NYC from 6-9 PM.
Two Ten WIFI started out as a small pilot group of professional women convening in Boston beginning in late 2008; a Planning Group was then formed in New York City in 2009 to outline a national program for women in the industry. The interest expressed by women in becoming part of the emerging program has been tremendous - and points to the need for attention in this vital segmant of the footwear community.
With a mission to inspire, support, mentor and education women in footwear, Two Ten WIFI has hosted a number of face-to-face gatherings in NYC, launched a pilot mentoring program, and held countless planning teleconferences since its inception. This is the premier group focused on advancing women professionals through the ranks of the footwear industry.
Our special launch event will feature cocktails, light refreshments, and networking among female professionals from every area of the industry, including a welcome and introduction from Two Ten WIFI Co-Chairs: Carol Baiocchi, Chair of Two Ten's Board of Directors and VP-DMM, Kohl's Department Stores; and Diane Sullivan, President, Brown Shoe Company.
The highlight of the night is sure to be keynote speaker Susan Lyne, CEO, Gilt Groupe. Susan spent more than two decades as a media executive before joining Gilt Groupe in 2008. She served as president and CEO of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSLO) after spending eight years at Disney/ABC, where she oversaw the development of shows such as Desperate Housewives, Lost, and Grey's Anatomy. Susan spent her early career in the magazine industry working for The New York Times, the Village Voice, and Premiere. The Wall Street Journal named Susan one of its "50 Women to Watch" in 2006. She is director of CIT Group and serves as a trustee of the New School and the Posse Foundation.
