Many parents get nervous when their students still don’t have an answer to the question, “What do you want to do?” They often wonder how the student will move from a major into a career or whether or not a specific major is required to be successful. Before spending up to six figures on a four-year college, parents and students should have an idea about their goals for this education and how to achieve them. In this session, a College Coach expert will discuss:
- What majors mean and don’t mean
- Understanding how a potential major can impact the college search
- Possible career paths based on different majors
- Leveraging resources at the high school and college level
- Supporting a student in the discovery process
This topic is suggested for parents of 10th graders through college students – but all are welcome.
