Two Ten WIFI Seattle: “There Is No Limit to What We Can Do”

Sari at WIFIGuest Blogger Sarah Collins is an Account Executive at Topline and member of the Two Ten WIFI Northwest Committee. Two Ten would like to thank Topline, Nordstrom and NST for their support of WIFI Northwest in addition to the Two Ten WIFI Northwest Committee. Photos of the event can be found here.

Throughout her career, Sari Ratsula has used inspiration as a springboard. An internship with Vans while in college, led to a full time job. Within 10 years, Sari worked her way up to SVP of Sales, Design and Product Development. Inspired by opportunity, Sari joined Seychelles where she is currently the President.

Earlier this week, Sari shared her journey and words of inspiration with the members of Two Ten’s WIFI Seattle group at the Topline offices.

1. There is no limit to what we can do.

“Working hard for something that we don’t care about is called stress.  Working hard for something we love is called passion.” – Unknown

If you find what you are passionate about, there are no limits to what you can and will do.  Focus on today and what you love.

2. Always be yourself.

“Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.” – Coco Chanel

“Integrity is doing the right thing when nobody is watching.” – C.S. Lewis

You can only be the best you can be.  The people who hired you, hired you for YOU.  Celebrate this within yourself.  At the end of the day, you need to be able to look in the mirror and know that you like who you see and that you are the best you.  We can’t please everybody so we need to please ourselves.

3. Be kind to yourself.

“Look in the mirror, that’s your competition.” – Unknown

Don’t beat yourself up for your mistakes.  You are the sum of everything you’ve done and learned.  It is what it is.  Admit that you made a mistake and move on.

 4. Be open to see other people’s point of view.

It is incredible how much can be accomplished when you listen.  Keep in mind that just because you are ready to talk about something, the person you want to talk to may not be ready to receive it.

5. “No” is just a word.

“No” means just figure out another way.  We all have the power to make the decision of what is and what is not right for us.

6. Ask questions – lots of questions.

Be curious.  People like to talk about themselves, so ask about them.  If you feel that you deserve something, it is ok to ask for it.

7. Everything is connected.

“One thing leads to another.  Everything is connected.” – Charlotte Bonham- Carter, Louise Coysh, Tamsin Dillon

Consider how what you do today will impact what happens in completely different areas of your business or life tomorrow.

8. Always take Responsibility.

“Never mistake activity for achievement.”  – John Wooden

Remember that sending an email doesn’t mean that the responsibility shifts.  Follow up.  Do everything you can.

9. We are all 100%.

We are all equal.  We are just human beings.  Make the best of who we can be and carry on.

“A strong woman loves, forgives, walks away, lets go, tries again, and perseveres… no matter what life throws at her.” – Unknown
