In October 2009 after collapsing, unconscious and barely breathing, John Maltese was rushed to the hospital and informed by a specialist that in order to survive he had to undergo a permanent Tracheotomy. After a four week stay in the hospital and a 95% loss of long term memory, John could not work and therefore, he and his totally disabled wife were left with unpaid bills and not many options.
Mr. Maltese contacted Two Ten and spoke with Megan in Social Services. Two Ten awarded John financial assistance to help pay for bills and his mortgage payment. "It was so wonderful to get relief from the stress of being behind in bills and even though the assistance was a one-time shot, it gave me a chance to calm down and concentrate on a more permanent solution to my problems." John sent a wonderful letter explaining his situation and expressing his appreciation to Two Ten...
"I shall be forever grateful to Two Ten for their helping hand. I have a new appreciation for my fellow man as I'm just now learning what wonderful and helpful creatures we can be."
