Liz Rodbell, President of Hudson’s Bay Company and Lord & Taylor, spoke at the Annual WIFI National Summit held in partnership with FFaNY. Liz spoke to the group about a variety of subjects including mentoring, teamwork, communication and giving back. The event was attended by 120 women in footwear.
Here’s what Liz said about the importance of mentoring:
“I have a group of people that I feel confident that I can share with, but I have to do the work. And I think that is all part of what mentoring is about, that you’ve got to seek those right people out. The other thing is that we, as leaders in the industry, have a lot to offer. We were helped by somebody and are consistently helped in our careers. We owe it to those who are coming up in the business … to make sure that we’re available to help other people.”
Tina Aldatz, author of From Stilettos to the Stock Exchange, signed books at the event with a portion of proceeds going to WIFI.
